1. What is the minimum requirement for Star SysLog Daemon?
 

In order to install and run Star SysLog Daemon, your PC is suggested to fulfill the below pre-request requirements.

Operating System

1.       Microsoft Windows XP
2.       Microsoft Windows 2000 Server and Professional with SP4
3.       Microsoft Windows 2003 Server
4.       Microsoft Windows Vista
5.       Microsoft Windows NT

Hardware Requirement

1.       PIII processor (or equivalent) and later
2.       256MB RAM or above
3.       100MB Harddisk available space or above
4.       10/100 or wireless LAN card

Please click on "Alarm Options", and enable "Email - SMTP".
For Star SysLog Daemon, after enable "Alarm Options" ==> "Email - SMTP".

Why can't the Star SysLog Daemon send out alarming message, when the SysLog message are generated from localhost?

 

Star SysLog Daemon will not send out any alarming message, where the SysLog message are generated from localhost. It is to prevent infinite loop of SysLog message.
